On December 16, 2021, TYPHOON RAI/ODETTE, a Category 5 Super Typhoon, battered across The Philippines making landfall first on Siargao Island, Southern Leyte, Northern Mindanao, Bohol, Mactan Island, Cebu as well as its outlying islands, it also struck Guimaras Island, Negros and to Palawan.

You have read the pleas of help, and as we have seen on social media platforms, there are thousand of people badly affected.

Banga® Pang Pamilya Project is our determined response for national preparedness for clean potable water, that every household in the Philippines should have one.  What we saw in the aftermath of TYPHOON FENGSHEN/FRANK of mid June, 2008, prompted us to pursue this project.  In the archipelago, 598 people died and FENGSHEN/FRANK caused the sinking of MV Princess of the Stars, where, of the 825 passengers listed on board, a mere 52 survived--the rest perished to their death.

TYPHOON HAIYAN/YOLANDA, a Category 5 Super Typhoon of November 8, 2013 was even more ferocious and devastating.  One month before, a severe earthquake stuck the central Visayan region, namely Bohol and Cebu on October 15 with a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter Scale.

Our disaster preparedness presentations and appeals to several LGU's, NGO's as well as associates, friends and even relatives in its wake--the response was largely lacklustre and were not on priority, to say the least.  Efforts on social media drives also had lukewarm response.  When things go back to some normalcy again, basic necessities like water tend to be taken for granted.  Our mindset, however, have always been on "national preparedness" for such an important resource as potable water.

WE WILL NOT RELY ON GOVERNMENT OR ANY NON-GOVERNMENT ORGANISATION.

At Citor Philippines, we believe in personal relationships, well intended effort and resources of well meaning individuals with big hearts should not go to waste, or pilfered.

You inspired us in your response to TYPHOON HAIYAN.  We want to do something good, like you did.

You're here because you think along the same line as us, maybe you need a Banga®, perhaps you have family or relatives that could do with one, or you simply want to sponsor a family for one.

QUESTION:  How is it distributed?

A twenty-footer sea-container can hold 120 Banga® Pang Pamilya inside, its double that if a forty-footer sea-container is distributed to affected areas, to 240 inside.  Areas affected that have difficulty with transport, the filtration system will have to be loaded onto smaller vehicles.  It is important to note, the size of the port-of-call on some municipalities can only accommodate twenty-footer sea-containers, in some cases, only ten-footer sea-containers even.  Forty-footer sea-containers can be accommodated in Cebu City Port.

QUESTION:  Where does it come from?

Australia, India, China or South Korea.

QUESTION:  How long will it take to arrive?

Two weeks, a sea-container is sent to Cebu only when full to capacity with 120 units inside.

QUESTION:  Okay, how does the sponsorship work?

You sponsor a family one Banga® Pang Pamilya unit, or you pay for one for your family.

QUESTION:  How much is it?

Peso 45,000.  Subsidised.  This includes product cost, freight and all taxes in Cebu.

QUESTION:  How do I pay for one?

QUESTION:  Where is it picked up?

Your sponsor can claim their Banga® Pang Pamilya at our distribution centre in Cebu or we send to their town or city and they can pick it up there with added cost of delivery from Cebu, approximately P3,000, we hope less than that.

QUESTION:  How do I know what I pay for reaches the person or family that I Sponsor?

We hook you guys up, we hope you get to know one another, one extremely grateful family or person would be happy to know who you are.

QUESTION:  Why should I help when reports of previous donations to calamities in the country did not actually go to the intended recipients due to theft, bureaucracy, corruption and high administrative costs?

We are doing this for that exact reason as your question, we want to directly help families.  We are not a charity.  We are not tied to any non-government organisation or the local government either.  We are doing this ourselves, you and I, as well as able bodied people donating their time and effort to help others, they themselves are recipients as the typhoon spared no-one.  We believe most people do good things, we are banking on that.  We assume you have a family contact in the country or a recipient and they are expecting to receive the Banga® Pang Pamilya unit as soon as it gets there.

HELP PREVENT WATERBORNE DISEASE OUTBREAK IN THE PHILIPPINES.

Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos are in need of support following the massive devastation caused by SUPER TYPHOON RAI/ODETTE.

The typhoon made landfall at least nine times from Dec. 16 to 17, with winds reaching to 270 kmph or 168 mph.  It is the 15th storm to hit the country this year and the strongest storm in 2021. The full impact is still unknown, but the death toll has risen to over 500 people with hundreds still missing, and more than 1.8 million people were impacted.

Thousands of families are sheltering in makeshift evacuation centres, and are without critical needs like food, water, hygiene and medical supplies.

What is important and immediate is potable water.

To ensure access to safe water for the thousands of impacted families, we are partnering with a number of Doctors, eager individuals who are themselves affected and are responding to the typhoon.

Your Sponsorship and Donation goes directly to those affected without any intermediaries.

Help us get additional filters to families in the Philippines.

**100% of donated funds go towards the cost to manufacture and distribute the filters.  You and I, "We" are sending the units directly to the people that need them, we are not working with any agencies or any agent from big "charity" organisations, this means we are paying at a premium in cost of delivery, this also means we will pay taxes to the national government and local government with official receipts.  They will not waive those taxes.  This is a better option than losing 95% of any Donation or Sponsorship funds to bureaucracy and theft.

Our Humanitarian effort does not profit from your Sponsorship or Donation.
